Why Join the BIPOCAC?

The BIPOCAC is a Call to Action insisting that Canadian universities live up to their claims and legal requirements around racial equity, recruitment, retention, inclusion, disruption, and the countless other statements that have become window dressing used by higher education’s status quo to pacify the general Canadian public.

Primarily, we aim to do this through the unity of BIPOC academics standing together to push for tangible change and to create a space where we are no longer divided and isolated. We are also committed to building a broader community of solidarity, and welcome white allies who share these convictions and are interested in contributing to this work.

We hope to formalize an organizational structure that will assist us in achieving our goals. If you share in these convictions of real equity, whether as a BIPOC academic seeking solidarity and collective action or as a white ally committed to supporting this work, we invite you to join us.
